Hansandfranz was asked to make a design for a temporary outdoor bar for the winter-time, located on the roof-top of 5 star hotel Bayerischer Hof, situated in the heart of Munich. The idea they came up with was a mobile and modular polar station.
Expedition boxes are arranged on the 120 square meter area and serve as bar elements. Furthermore, hansandfranz designed equipment such as barstools, tables, light- and heatingpoles and wind-shots. All objects are outdoor-proof and functional. For transportation, the expedition boxes serve as carriers for the entire bar-equipment.
In close cooperation with Italian fashion brand Stone Island, hansandfranz also designed blankets and lounge cushions, which are also part of the Polar bar. BMW Mini is also represented with an additional expedition-box, displaying iconic elements of the Mini car.
