Unexpected combinations

The collection Relocation.
The collection Relocation.

The designers Katarina Häll and Philip Edis exhibited the new collection Relocation at Draft exhibition at Nordic Light Hotel during Stockholm Design week. The idea behind the products in the collection was to relocate patterns and materials in unexpected combinations.

Katarina Häll has taken her inspiration from patched and mended walls and roofs. Of corrugated iron she has created the cabinet Patchwork. She has worked with scales and proportions to give the iron a new expression. Pieces of iron were used in smaller scale and the cabinet is made for indoor environment.

Braid Carpet Philip Edis call his three-dimensional mat, inspired by the herringbone-patterned parquet floor. The mat is handtufted, cut and trimmed to give the three-dimensional feeling.

Together they have designed the lamp Balk. Inspired by a cinematic scene of a house building in the early 1900s, where steel beams were hoisted in swaying rope.
