Architect and designer Il Hoon Roh has designed D Light (Diatoms light), Type01 and Type02. Type01 has stainless steel structural ribs and PPC finish in stainless steel. Type02 has lightweight structural skin and SLA rapid prototyped. It can also be produced with polished aluminium metal.
The purpose of this design was to create a lighting device which would allow the user to change the direction and quality of light through mechanical movements.
The light source is LED light, available in different strengths as well as warmer or colder colors. And it can also be uses as a celiling light by suspending it with tension cables.
