Directly from Milan: Zuo

Zuo by Valerio Maria Ferrari.
Zuo by Valerio Maria Ferrari.

Zuo is the phonetic transcription of the Chinese ideogram for "be seated", which this year Valerio Maria Ferrari has transformed into the delicate tracery embedded in the back of his new concealed seating.

The chairs are the evolution of the work begun in 2008 in the foyer of the Théâtre de l'Atelier in Paris with the experimental collection of concealed tables and chairs "A Chair in a chair in a chair in a chair...", continued in 2009 with the chairs  named Boucle d'or (an allusion to the fairytale "Goldilocks and the Three Bears") and in 2010 resulting in the "A Statuto Speciale" tricolore collection, a project that spoke of "the Unification of Italy" as a melting-pot of cultures.
