The latest and finest in modern design will be presented in rough and refined surroundings when Formland Autumn 2011 invites guests to discover inspiration at the New Note zone in MCH Messecenter Herning from 18 to 21 August.
For the past three years, Formland’s New Note zone has showcased the best new design in settings that feature coming trends in design. This time, the setting will be a factory. The area’s theme is Industrial Edge, and the focus is on good craftsmanship and simple solutions.
- It takes its inspiration from the early 20th century, when small industrial enterprises moved to the outskirts of the towns. I have seen this industrial style in a number of places. Strong signals indicate this is an interesting trend, especially in the Netherlands and the UK, says Mads Arlien-Søborg, curator of New Note.
New Note has undergone a renewal since the last fair in the spring. Upcoming designers will be in focus this time, with a part of New Note exclusively reserved for final projects by design students from the country’s design schools.
