Samuel Chan’s new designs for Channels – Monty – is a series of smaller furniture that bears all the designer’s hallmarks, such as clean lines, restraint, and a studied sense of proportion. Samuel Chan says “Channels is not about woodworking in a nostalgic sense; rather we’re combining classic wood craft with innovation; often we’re experimenting with old methods in the hope of creating pieces that feel new and pleasing and fresh, but that, in the tradition of the best wood furniture, will last and improve over time.”
