As part of Tokyo Designer’s Week 2011, ICEX has organized an exhibition at the Spanish embassy to show the best Spanish design of recent years. The 3G lamp, made by B.Lux and designed by Mario Ruiz, has been chosen to be part of this exhibition, taking place between 1st and 6th November.
The exhibition is based around the concept of light, on the understanding that Spain is a country where light is crucial for creation and has shaped the character of Spanish creators; hence the name of the exhibition: Spain Alight. The result is a new concept in exhibition space, where huge splashes of light blend, interact with visitors and give life to the finest collection of Spanish design of the moment, including the 3G floor lamp, which will be featured in its black and white two-tone version at Spain Alight.
Together with this exhibition, and as a living document that gives continuity to the event, a documentary film has been made in which three eminent figures show how light influences the creative process: the designer Joan Gaspar, the architect Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas and the artist Daniel Canogar. The Spain Alight exhibition has been designed and organized by Stone Designs.
