Cupnoodle urushi

Nendo has designed the “cupnoodle urushi” for the Cupnoodles Museum in Yokohama, Japan. That is a new souvenir product for the Cup Noodle Museum, which acquaints visitors with Cup Noodle's history and production methods through a variety of experiences. We're all used to disposing of the Cup Noodle packaging after eating its contents. By asking lacquerware artisans to paint lacquer directly onto the ordinary packaging containers, one by one, Nendo combined the familiar concepts of throwaway packaging and bowls for everyday home dining into one object with a new value located somewhere in between.
