Brooks + Scarpa has designed the Ying-Yang house in Venice, California. It's a net-zero energy single family home, designed for a large and growing family. The home is organized around a series of courtyards and other outdoor spaces. From the rear the house appears to be a single story volume. When the steps are animated with people it becomes clear that the house is two stories. A 12 kilowatt solar panel provides the house with electricity.
