Charlene Mullen has a background in the fashion industry, with over 15 years experience working as a freelance designer of textiles for clients including Lagerfeld and Dolce&Gabbana. In 2007 she entered into the interior design arena through a collaboration with Matthew Hilton. Her first own collection in furnishing was shortlisted for Best Newcomer at 100 % Design in 2008. Her new line is inspired by a wide range of objects and times from Victorian Christening gowns to prison tattoos. Mullen uses angular prints to craft embroiderer and uses old techniques in a contemporary way.
