As all lighting designs by Ango, Jewel turns out a kind of allegory about how we can live alongside nature in a technological world. The lamp proposes an organic form that is usually composed of natural materials, to create a light diffuser element, but is then formed into an architectonic whole. The result is a return to nature, but a electric nature. Jewel breathes a new sensibility where raw natural materials and innovative design join together. As much of Angos objects, Jewel achieves its luxury finish via hand-made production techniques. Design by Angus Hutcheson.
