Israeli designer Inon Rettig has combined plastic and wood in a series of small stools. The designer allows the different materials to absorb and contain each other. The background is a special technique for vacuum forming, which allows the materials o be enclosed in one another. One of the primary disadvantages with the used technology is the creation of bridges or webbing; plastic wrinkles and patterns in places where the raw material does not reach the tray, and therefor sticks to itself, creating these plastic walls alongside the tray. Inon Rettig has turned this unintentional disadvantage into an intentional advantage, letting the bridges and webbings become the leading aesthetic feature in the stools.
