The table Ali Baba was designed to add a little magic to each family or friend get together. The sleek table opens up like a treasure chest, revealing bright gems and colours. The visual space becomes the focal point around which to come together and share food. The conceptual ornateness is visually rendered in the splendid decoration: the crystal-clear gem and its subtle nuances of colour give a special kind of light that can either hide things or highlight them. Marcello Jori has transferred his sunken worlds into the representation of a graphic surface used as a table top.
