Bookcase inspired by Victorian decorations

Paola Navone has created a new bookcase for Lando. The design plays with classical forms and reflects Victorian architectural decorative images. This impression has been inspired by the powerful imagery of Caribbean art and architecture, where "gingerbread" houses show fairy-tale turrets, wood-carved gables, grids, banisters and framework with intertwined ornamental spirals. This collection, designed by Paola Navone and presented by Lando, rediscovers the decorative power of wood, and revisits the harmony of traditional lines through unusual utilization of shapes, materials, styles and traditions, to form a contemporary effect.

Bookcase's shelves are made of sandblasted and wax-finished durmast. The vase-shaped supports are made of Bassano pottery.
