Trend report from Maison & Objet

Design year 2010 was off to flying start with the French design and furniture fair Maison & Objet in Paris. The fair is in a full swing and ends on Tuesday January 26th. 40% of the 3000 exhibitors are international and the rest are French. The fair is considered to be one of the most important trade fairs in interior design and decoration, where approximately 75,000 actors are expected to attend. New trends by well-known trend analysts like Nelly Rodi will also be presented.

The editor in chef of Nordic Interior, Annika Silver, reports directly from Paris and tells us about brand new products at the fair:

- We found some of our favorits in the "Now!" section (Hall 7) where a number of news in the modern decor is presented. For instance we saw wonderful outdoor furniture by Spanish Vondom, with new shapes and colors, designed by Karim Rashid. The inspirational exibition "Cohabitation - Transcultures" by Elizabeth Leriche was another hit.

- Inga Sempé's new sofa for Ligne Roset was a lovely yellow colour click, with a soft expression despite its straight shapes. And the delicious champagne glasses at Baccarat, designed by Marcel Wanders, will create some major cravings.

A detailed report packed with inspiring images can be found in Nordic Interior No. 2.
