Karim Rashid collaboration

Vondom started the year 2010 by launching a new collection: a cooperation with designer Karim Rashid. This is what the designer said about his work:

- I was more than thrilled because of the adventurous bold projects they have developed with other great designers as well as their quality, sensibility, and culture. I then decided to push some boundaries of creating objects that imbued new languages, new forms, but most importantly ones that functioned and performed seamlessly.

He developed about 50 furniture objects for Vondom which ended up being edited and translated into 6 families, one of them being Vlek.  These flowerpots speak of our roots as a human, our roots on this green earth and our growth towards a new future driven by digital technology. Besides its attractive and original design, it also interprets the concept sustainability of our habitat. With the option of incorporating a self-watering system, it permits an autonomy of watering until 120 days, which guarantees good care of the plants even if one is away on vacation.
