A designed interplay of supporting lines and enclosing surfaces defines the new S840 chair. It is created to offer comfort as well as a warm and lively impression brought about by the material combination of fine wood with
metal and high value textiles. With the characteristic seat shell in connection with the svelte steel tubing frames, the S 840 unfolds its ambient effect.
The chair is recommendable not just as a conference chair but also as a high-value piece of furniture for private dining and workspaces. It is available with the classic Thonet cantilevered frame, as a swivel four-footed model and now also with a five-footed stand frame on castors. The four-footed model is fitted with a return mechanism which ensures
that the seat shell automatically adjusts to the frame. The seat element consists of moulded plywood; through the use of different exotic wood veneers and coverings, the character of the chair can be varied and adjusted to any furnishing environment. The frames are available in chrome plated tubular steel. The chair is available both with normal and
higher seat-back; a shoulder support is also available as a further option.
Behind the chair is the Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade design studio.
