Pollen V by the Brno sculptor Tomáš Medek is another entirely novel interpretation of the Corian material. This artwork has a complicated organic structure and was produced thanks to the combination of a creative design and the processing properties of the material. It continues the series of previous pollen grains entitled Pollen I – III, made by Tomáš Medek, from marble, and Pollen IV made from Corian Glacier White.
- Corian can be used very well as a sculptural material, because it is not so hard as marble or granite, Medek says and continues:
- This means that it can be worked more easily, using common tools. It can also be stuck together and the connection is not apparent at all. Moreover, the material enables creating of hollow objects, which is impossible with common sculptural materials.
