Arte Veneziana is an artisan company founded in Mestre in 1970. The company immediately specialised in the reproduction of 1600s and 1700s Venetian mirrors, the period when the Serenissima glass-working art was at a peak, to which in 1990, the production of Venetian furniture and art deco, covered in mirror was added. The idea of applying mirror to furniture came from young brothers Alessandro and Nicola Zanin, who, aged just eighteen years old, after having learned about all the stages of production, join the company bringing new energy and new points of
view. Always faithful to its stylistic trend, Arte Veneziana opened a new third line devoted to lighting: that
of the 1700s Venetian light fittings and art deco. Under the guidance of Alessandro and Nicola, the time references extend: no longer only the exquisite retro flavour mutated by eighteenth century Venice, but a more European feel and a jump forward by a good two centuries, with a series of furniture inspired by the elegance of the art deco lines, a style that enchanted the whole world in the early twentieth century.

Now history repeats itself and the world of Arte Veneziana evolves and opens up to the contemporary. Alessandro and Nicola wager on the future and, thanks to the imagination and approach of the young Venetian designer Leo De Carlo, born in 1972 and fresh out of the prestigious collaboration with the Parisian studio of Philip Starck, they presented their new contemporary classic brand, ‘Riflessivo’ at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (Milan Furniture Fair): an intangible ‘reflection’ whose story, sensations, emotions, present and past, forge the shapes granting an aura of the future.
