The traditional Kimono is characterized by its long sleeve bags – these aliform sacs are used as (secret) storage for personal utensils. This expressive image of the Kimono, which is often presented on a typical Kimono rack was the starting point of the creative work with Haori.
With a feather-light bag system made from Tyvek and a minimal wooden structure a series of spatially imposing but decent storage racks was created.
Haori was designed by Nora Schmidt and Ines Königsmann who form the Berlin based design group Noi.
