Interchangeable seating

Kai Linke had a vision for her latest creation Dahlia:  “Not the material itself but the object is the main structure.” The outcome of the vision was "Dahlia", an interchangeable seat object. It is a combination of a seat cushion and a stool. The user can easily change the seat position. In the compact position you can use Dahlia as a cushion on the floor. If you turn the cushion vertical, you can open it up and many layers of felt are connected with each other. They are connected in a specific order to form a honeycomb structure. The results are many new seat variations, like a stool or a bench for two people or more. When Dahlia is completely

unfolded, it looks like the flower "dahlia". The outer layers connect with strong magnets. You can take more than one Dahlia and you can connect them with the use of these magnets. You can create for instance a long stretched bench seat, or a big circular bench seat. Try it out yourself and be creative.
