Lace bowl inspired by a Chinese tradition

Ching-ting Hsu has designed the Lace Bowl for the Taiwanese company Yii. It is crafted by Tsun-jen Lee.

The Lace Bowl is a refined and emotionally poetic object with a visual softness. Oriental embroidery pattern meets Western elegant lace. These bowls express the wedding blessing that Chinese mothers give to their daughters. The porcelain's gradient transparency plays with light that almost penetrates the membrane-like surface which is thinner on the top and thicker on the bottom.

The bowl is made in different versions.
