Spring Formex sets several new records

Formex is continuing its positive progress. The spring exhibition saw more exhibitors than ever before, 833 compared with 781 the previous spring. Formex also beat the visitor record, with a total of 26,729, which is an increase of 5 % compared with record figures from the previous spring. Interest from abroad continues to grow; the number of foreign visitors increased by 18 %.

Over four days, the Nordic interior design and gifts industry came together at Stockholmsmässan to make their spring purchases and view the latest trends.
This spring’s Formex attracted a record 1187 visitors from abroad, an increase of 180 from last spring. Most came from Finland, 536 compared with 482 people last spring. Norway was second with 149 visitors, compared to 126 in spring 2010.

“It’s fantastic that we’ve beaten so many records and that interest in Formex is just growing. It’s also great to hear that exhibitors are reporting excellent sales and good business,” says Chicie Lindgren, project manager, Formex.

This spring’s Formex offered several talks on trends in the Nordic region, from both an international perspective, with Vincent Grégoire, from the NellyRodi trend agency in Paris, and from a Nordic perspective, with Pej gruppen from Denmark and the Swedish Fashion Council.

“We want Formex to be an event for the whole of the Nordic region, and we will continue to focus on this,” explains Chicie Lindgren.

Interest from the media is also setting new records; this year 904 representatives were accredited, compared with 885 last year.

Formex Stockholm is held twice a year; the next event will take place on September 1-4, 2011.
