Lasvit has designed the light installations in the Khalid Bin Al Waleed Station in the Dubai Metro. The first section of the Metro opened 2009 and driverless, fully automated trains occupy the two lines. Three more lines are planned.
Jitka Kamencová Skuhravá has designed several light installations that hang from the ceiling. "Water", as they are called, is inspired by water springs. The public calls them "giant jellyfishes". The base features bent glass that connects to a second part, a stylized water fall, made of hand-blown glass drops. Each piece of every installation is handmade.
