Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec set out in pursuit of delicate expression. The composition of Ovale speaks about every day life, about breakfast, lunch and about everyone getting together for dinner. There collection holds a desire for simplicity. When working with the Ovale collection, Erwan Bouroullec pointed out the playfulness of design company Alessi, comparing the firm to a candy maker - For me, Erwan said, Alessi is very similar to the operation described in Tim Burton's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A wonderful factory where Alessi produces cakes and sweets.
