Karim Rashid always wanted to create a chair of glass, to make the ultimate notion of lightness, the transparent, floating, immaterial vestige. The renowned american designer has designed several plexiglas and polycarbonate chairs, which should be the next best thing, but kept hoping to create a glass chair. When he finally got the chance, Karim Rashid wanted to enhance the sense of immateriality, and also add new technology to the product. Kleer is a wing‐like lounge with geometric planar surfaces supporting two flat technology speakers. Hence the chair does not only speaks about visual transparency, but audio ethereality.
