The new Sequence motif is a most complex design, featuring an intricate, bold pattern of parallel and diagonal lines. The Czech-born designer Josef Hoffmann, founder of the Wiener Werkstätte, has been one of Ogneva's sources of inspiration. In creating Sequence, a mouth blown glass vessel is acid etched to create a matt surface upon which a Czech master artisan paints each black line in the lattice-like pattern. The freehand painting technique requires great skill and precision; each glass takes more than a full day to produce.
