On 22 January it is once again time for one of the largest international furniture fairs; Maison & Objet. The trade fair takes place in Paris, like always, at the Paris Nord Villepinte. Over 3000 brands will showcase their latest collections and a variety of seminars and inspiration exhibitions will take place.
The fair is divided into the following areas:
Maison & Objet: Interior design fair
This part is divided into seven areas: Ethnic chic, Textile, Tableware, The Space, Interior Decoration, Home Accessories and Cultural Objects.
Scènes d'intérieur: Exhibition of renowned art decor
The best-known creators in the interior field lend their talents to the show. In an exclusive environment with international brands, and in a spirit of luxury and extravagance, the finest projects in art and interior are shown (Hall 5B).
Now! Design à vivre: International Design Fair
This year marks an 10 year anniversary for now! design à vivre. Here you get a preview of the most innovative creations. In an inspirational design environment furniture collections and interior details are presented (Hall 7A & 7B).
Maison & Objet éditeurs: the annual meeting place for furniture textiles
Here you find the fabric exhibitors. More than 150 international, prestigious brands reveal their new collections (Hall 5B).
Maison & Objet Projets: Fair with solutions dedicated for interior designers
An environment specially adapted to the meetings between producers, distributors and interior designers, is created by a team of experts with knowledge of materials, renovation and interior planning (Hall 5C).
Maison & Objet musée: a meeting place with focus on cultural objects
This is a new division specially adapted for the actors involved in the objects of a cultural nature, and business and gift items (Placeta in Hall 6).
This year's designer is none other than Philip Starck. Few areas today remain untouched by Starck; public comissions, yachts, motorcycles, design for mail order companies and so on ... In 2010, he has asked himself the question: what is it we are lacking?
