A light desk that mixes work and leasure

The time for work and leisure becomes more and more mixed and it is getting harder to draw the line between what is what. The trend gurus talk about bleisure – business blends with leisure. At the same time people in larger cities experience smaller living spaces which mean that a functional home must be held in a smaller area. These trends create a need for small, efficient work spaces at home, something which designer Stina Sandwall had as a starting point when she began her work to create a home desk for Voice.

Overtime is a small, light desk with a slim and yet curvy shape, which makes it easy to place in most surroundings. Order is of course also important. Light- and computer cables may be discretely stowed away in a clever shelf, the drawer underneath the desk top holds the most important when it comes to writing material.

Since her graduation from Beckmans in 1999 Stina Sandwall has been working in her own design studio, Sandwall Design AB as a freelance designer. The projects have evolved mainly around product design, but also architectural and interior design. She has worked for companies such as Asplunds, SnickarPer, SnickarLaget, Lidhults, Askul, Svenssons, SMD Design and Voice.
