Luca Nichetto’s continual movement between Italy and Sweden has become an opportunity for the young designer to create a product that expresses the reciprocal influences of the two cultures.
Tröag in Swedish is a canoe-shaped wooden bowl used to crush fruit – an object that is much more than a domestic utensil, because it is handed down from generation to generation.
Luca Nichetto turned a Tröag upside down and saw a lamp, made of a wooden diffuser that develops lengthways, resting on a fluorescent tube.
The result is a product that combines characterising aesthetics with a high degree of functionality.
Thanks to its lengthways development, Troag illuminates even very large work surfaces and tables in an intense, uniform manner and – when multiplied – can work perfectly for high-impact installations in large-scale spaces.
The lighting is produced by Foscarini.
