Peter Traag’s Sponge armchair, with its pressed wrinkles creating a unique pattern for each piece, was featured in gold leather at this years Salone del Mobile. Originally the chair was avaliable in different fabrics and colours. It was created by foaming the polyurethane directly in the upholstery, lined with a special polyester yarn fabric with a “flucarbon” finish. The upholstery, cut to oversize, crinkles during the cooling phase to adapt to the polyurethane shape, forming unique wrinkles that create an irregular pattern on the armchair.
