Lee Samwoong has created the Octopus chair. The basic philosophy in the designer's works lies in the relationship of the human, environment, and the object. All the existences in the world have their own meaning and identities, and he finds the solution to practice the role of design and periodic thinking which is inspired by the chaos and the harmony and complementary to the nature.
Starting from an idea and completing a final work also symbolizes the work process and his attitude towards the world and its time. He seeks the design which becomes an important part in human’s life and also heals them in emotion.
He doesn’t make any restriction on his material and subject to express his point of view. He continuously reinterprets and applies Korean traditional techniques and materials thorough research and experiments, and integrates new technologies.
